Your glove work shows a lot of promise, and you have the foundation for becoming an excellent infielder. To elevate your fielding mechanics, the next step is to focus on your footwork. Start by staying active with your feet, ensuring they’re always moving to get you into the best position to field the ball. Proper footwork is the key to creating smooth transitions and setting yourself up for accurate throws.
In addition to footwork, work on maintaining an athletic, low stance as you approach the ball. Staying low keeps you balanced and helps you field the ball cleanly out in front of your body, where you can track it with your eyes. Your movements should be controlled and deliberate, avoiding unnecessary steps that can slow you down.
As you field, focus on working through the ball by using your momentum to carry you into the throw. This will create a more seamless transition from fielding to throwing, improving your overall efficiency. Make sure to stay soft with your hands, letting the ball come into your glove without stabbing or lunging.
By combining promising glove work with refined footwork and active movement, you’ll develop into a more consistent and reliable infielder. Keep working hard, and you’ll see significant improvement in your fielding mechanics!

You have a great swing overall, and your mechanics are solid. The one key area to work on is making sure your bat doesn’t wrap around your head too much during your load. Right now, this is the main thing holding you back, as it can create a longer swing path and make it harder to get the barrel to the ball efficiently.
Focus on keeping your bat in a more upright and controlled position during your load. This adjustment will shorten your swing path, improve your bat speed, and help you make more consistent, powerful contact. Drills that emphasize a compact load and direct bat path, like high tee drills or slow-motion swings, can help reinforce this adjustment.
With this small refinement, you’ll unlock even more potential in your swing. Keep working hard, and you’re on track to take your hitting to the next level! Great job!
