Marcus, great job getting to your balance point in your pitching delivery—your arm circle looks clean, and you’re showing strong fundamentals. One thing to watch for is that slight arm drag when your arm is coming up from the break point to the point where you fire towards the catcher. While you make an athletic move to catch up and deliver a strike, that slight lag can affect your consistency and accuracy over time.

As you continue to grow and develop, cleaning up that small lag will improve your overall mechanics, limit stress on your shoulder and elbow, and help you become more consistent with your delivery. It’s nothing major right now, but striving for perfection means working on these little details.

You’re doing a great job getting down the mound and getting to extension. You’re almost at full extension, which is excellent! Keep focusing on getting your hand out in front and toward the catcher to improve your follow-through.

When throwing your changeup, the arm drag becomes more pronounced and hinders your ability to fully extend and get out in front. Speeding up your arm from glove to firing point will help you get out in front, allowing for better extension and more control. This will give your changeup more deception, better action, and more consistent strikes.

Overall, you’re doing a great job. Continue to work on these details, and you’ll keep improving both your velocity and consistency. Keep up the great work!

Great swing and excellent mechanics! You have a solid foundation, and your overall approach is impressive. One key area to work on is your load. Right now, your hands stay very stagnant during this phase, which can cause you to roll over the ball or spin off at times. Adding some movement and travel in your hands during your load will help create better rhythm and allow your swing to flow more naturally.
Focus on getting a bit of separation between your hands and body as you start your load. This movement will not only help you time different pitches but also keep you more loose and relaxed through the zone. A fluid hand load creates a better connection between your upper and lower body, improving your ability to drive the ball consistently and with authority.
To practice this, try drills that emphasize hand movement and rhythm, such as slow-motion swings or step-back drills, to feel the separation and flow in your load. With this adjustment, you’ll find it easier to handle a variety of pitches and maintain a smooth, powerful swing. Keep building on your strengths, and you’ll continue to see improvements at the plate!
