Players Way

As the official youth development initiative of the MLBPA, Players Way exists to prepare the next generation of athletes through education, innovation, and expert-led instruction. Our programs combine professional coaching, structured evaluations, and game awareness development to guide each athlete on a clear path forward.

WE ENCOURAGE ALL parents and athletes to join us from 3 P.M. to 4 P.M. for a panel discussion to help athletes, parents and guardians understand the recruitment process and provide a glimpse of what the future holds.

Sports Academy

In proud partnership with Players Way, Sports Academy brings world-class sports performance training into every Development Camp. Sports Academy, known for training elite athletes including MLB pros, adds measurable athletic testing, injury prevention, and movement-focused coaching. The result is a comprehensive, scientifically backed approach to baseball development that delivers real, lasting results.

At the Players Way Development Camp it’s about teaching.

This is a true development experience built around teaching, training, and growth. Athletes work with former MLB players and expert coaches who break down mechanics, sharpen fundamentals, and provide the tools for long-term success.

Verified metrics and performance feedback support the process, giving players measurable progress as they continue to develop. From hands-on instruction to guided training, this camp is designed to help athletes build their game the right way.

What’s Included

Position-Specific Training

Athletes work through game-relevant drill progressions and refine both mechanics and skills in the infield and outfield.

Video Analysis & Feedback

Each athlete receives personalized comments from coaches with video highlights, insights, along with suggestions for improvement.

Secure Data Management

All performance data is stored safely within each player’s private Players Way ProFile. Only the athlete and their family choose how and when to share it.

Defense

Athletes will be coached and evaluated on their defensive skills through position-specific drills. Both infielders and outfielders will receive focused instruction designed to improve fundamentals, footwork, and overall defensive performance.

Hitting

Athletes will cycle through multiple hitting stations, targeting different elements of their swing and offensive game.

Performance Testing by Sports Academy

Athletes will complete a series of athletic performance tests designed to evaluate overall speed, agility and explosiveness.

Sports Academy’s team leads this portion of the camp, delivering data-backed insight into each athlete’s physical profile — the same way it’s done at the Professional level.

Measurements: Height, weight and grip strength assessments (completed at check-in)

Speed & Agility: 30-yard dash (10-yard split), 5-10-5 shuttle
